Michelada
by Jordan R
The Michelada is a Mexican classic that blends crisp lager with lime juice, Clamato, and a punchy mix of hot sauce, Worcestershire, and soy. It’s tangy, salty, and just spicy enough to wake up your palate—perfect for hot days or curing a hangover. Rimmed with Tajin and sea salt, it’s a savory, refreshing drink that invites bold garnishes and bigger flavors.

Preparation
Drag a slice of lime around the rim of the glass. Place a mixture of equal parts Tajin and sea salt onto a plate. Coat the rim of the glass with the mixture by rolling it around the plate.
Fill a pilsner glass or tall glass with ice.
Assembling the Drink
Carefully pour a bottle of beer into the glass, avoiding too much head. Add the rest of the ingredients and gently stir.
Garnish
The Michelada is known for being served with outrageous garnishes, such as sausages, pickled vegetables, bacon, shrimp, and lobster tails, often all together. Get creative and go as crazy as you want with garnish on this refreshing summer drink.
Tips & Tricks
For the beer, try a pilsner-style lager or dark lager, like Modelo Especial or Modelo Negra.
